Merger of Gamesa’s and Daniel Alonso’s tower construction businesses

Natixis Partners Iberia advised Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica on the merger of its tower construction business with that of Grupo Daniel Alonso. The newly formed entity is 32% owned by Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica and 68% owned by Grupo Daniel Alonso.

Gamesa, a leading player in the renewable energy industry, had three tower production plants in Spain. Grupo Daniel Alonso, a family-owned company mainly engaged in steel processing and manufacturing of capital goods, had 1 tower production plant. The merger will allow for the creation of a leading wind tower manufacturer.
